| About Us In 2003, God arranged for two of His children --a little “country” boy from Shimonoseki, Japan, and a little “suburb” girl from Silver Spring, Maryland-- to meet at Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham, MD, where Taka was pursuing God’s call, getting an MA degree in Biblical Studies and Aki was pursuing God’s call, getting an MA in Christian Counseling. We married on July 10, 2005, packed up, and moved to Shimonoseki that September to answer God’s call to serve Him as a couple in Japan. |
Our Ministry We
are currently ministering in and around Taka’s home church, Shimonoseki
Christ Bible Church. Taka is serving as pastoral intern and English
Ministry Coordinator. Our church has two locations and we minister
mostly from its newer location called Shimonoseki Christian Center.
Taka preaches on Sundays, teaches Bible studies, counsels, & leads
the youth boys. As English Ministry Coordinator, Taka oversees our
English school (which currently has over 100 students, mostly
non-Christians), taking phone calls, being the liason between the
teachers (missionaries) and the students, teaching Bible times, and
supporting the missionaries as needs arise. Aki helps alongside Taka
and serves as an English teacher & studies Japanese in order to
build relationships with the Japanese.
