After Brian left Virginia to work at the Shimonoseki’s board of education for three years, he met Yoko while they served at Shimonoseki Christ Bible Church. They married in 1998, and began serving as full-time missionaries the following year. They assist the Japanese church and the Pioneers Shimonoseki missionary team through teaching and proclaiming Christ in the English as Foreign Language classes, parenting outreach classes, the church’s children’s ministry, and through co-leading summer and short-term missionaries. Their two daughters are Naomi (5) and Sara (3).

Brian
and Yoko often see their ministry-style reflected in the biblical
example of Priscilla and Aquila and Brian’s personality and ministry in
the life of Timothy. They believe more than anything that it is the
prayers of Christ Community Church and others that places God’s hand on
them and on Shimonoseki - powerfully changing lives forever. They are
asking the LORD for 3000 Japanese believers by the summer of 2008 and
are dependent on the persistent prayers of God’s children to reach that
goal.
