Pastor’s Paragraph – July 18, 2010

July 17th, 2010 by Christ Community Church

Dear friends,

We have several very significant “new” reasons to praise God this morning.

Mike and Kalila Warner have a “new” life from God by the name of Eva. They come today to dedicate her and themselves to Him.

Tobi Rouse and 15 others will begin a “new” week of ministry this afternoon with Impact the Valley. We have enjoyed a wonderful relationship with this ministry. This will be our second year of working with them and I am looking forward to hearing of how the week goes. By the way, if you’re not aware our very own Morgan Simmons is doing a fine job as an intern with this ministry this year.

And then finally, Geoff Howard will kick off a “new” series in the Old Testament book of Daniel. We are trusting God to have Daniel’s life and prophecy help us to trust and obey, to trust God in the grand sweeps of history and yet also to obey Him in the everyday stesses of our lives.

I’m thrilled you’re here.

Pastor’s Paragraph – July 11, 2010

July 9th, 2010 by Christ Community Church

Dear friends

Today we have the great privilege and responsibility to commissioning Cody Andersen. Cody leaves this Tuesday for his six-month ministry with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) in Dublin Ireland. It is just thrilling to see what God has done in Cody’s life over these years. He will be studying God’s word in their Discipleship Training School (DTS) and then ministering and serving in several European cities.

We also are concluding our 5 weeks series on the person and work of the Holy Spirit by gathering around the fire pit at Creation Fest, well, sort of. For in that fire pit there lie 2 images of how we can respond to the Holy Spirit, one with great benefit for our lives and one with great loss.

It is my prayer and deep desire that you as a person, we as a community of Christ followers and Cody as a sent one, know the benefits of rightly responding to the Holy Spirit.

It’s good to have you here.

Pastor’s Paragraph – July 4, 2010

June 30th, 2010 by Christ Community Church

Dear friends,

By the time you’re reading this greeting I will have returned from 4 great days with our high school students at CreationFest. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them 2 years ago and am looking forward to another eternally significant event.

We are also going to take great joy in dedicating Gaby and Tyler Good to the Lord this morning. I’m looking forward to this with great joy.

We are continuing our mini-series on the Holy Spirit today. It is my deep desire as the lead shepherd of this flock that we grow in our love for the Holy Spirit, in our ability to know how the Spirit moves, and in our ability to walk in the fullness of the Spirit all day everyday.

The Spirit is also calling us to the table of Jesus where we remember His deep love and grace and mercy. This is also a table of examination in light of His holiness and our relationships.

It’s good to have you here today.

Jeff

P.S. And on this day I am grateful for the freedom that God has granted us in this nation.

Pastor’s Paragraph – March 21, 2010

March 18th, 2010 by Christ Community Church

Dear friends

Today we conclude our series “Remembering and Reaffirming The Truth that defines us, unites us, transforms us.”

Before we enter our new season of ministry in our new space it is vital that we not only recommit ourselves as a community to that historic, orthodox faith that has united followers of Christ for over 2000 years, but that we also let it unite us and shape us.

God is going to show us in His Word in Psalm 133 why this unity is so important. He will then also show us four life skills that will enable us to be an answer to Jesus’ prayer in John 17.

“My prayer is not for them (His disciples) alone.  I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.  May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”

It’s good to have you “hear” today.

Pastor's Paragraph – March 14, 2010

March 12th, 2010 by Christ Community Church

Dear friends

Last Sunday night we took some time and enjoyed watching the Oscars. There was a moment however that caused me to pause, especially with the topic that we’re dealing with today. I want to tell you about that moment, and why it caused me to pause, but more importantly, I want God to make that moment a moment of transformation.

We’re taking to time pause as a church community before we enter our new space to remember and reaffirm the truth that God is using to define us, unite us, and transform us.

I want to thank Todd Rivetti for his ministry to us last Sunday morning. My heart was strongly encouraged as God spoke to me again about what it means to be “born again” and to be a part of His Body, to love those in His Body, and to diligently preserve the unity of that body.

I’m glad you’re here,

Jeff
